Co-founder and CTO
• As co-founder, nurtured the company through several rounds of capital raising and a reverse-takeover to achieve ASX listing in 2015 (ASX:NOR).
• Led a team of more than 10 full time staff in development of popular applications and systems.
• Co-inventor of four patents in Australia, and USA; managed the application process
• Developed a global system including iOS and Android applications and AWS infrastructure by applying principles from “The Lean Startup” and Agile development
• System architect for the development of the World Phone application which has had over 5 million downloads (on iPhone and Android)
• Introduced Jira for management of the development workflow; applied Agile in both Scrum and Kanban as necessary
• Utilised technologies such as Web Services, XML, Ruby on Rails and Kamailio to solve technical problems; often prototyping solutions that became product features
Ocean Broadband
2005-2010
Ocean Broadband provided reliable fixed wireless broadband internet to areas throughout Western Australia beyond the reach of ADSL.

Having joined the company shortly after it was founded, I served in a range of roles up to and including CIO and CFO, essentially building a Wireless ISP from the ground up.
• Designed and built a custom billing solution that processed over a million customer transactions
• Built the system that managed bandwidth and capacity according to subscriber plans
• As primary liaison with the Department of Communications, prepared funding applications and compliance documents and supervised compliance activities
• Implemented a CRM solution that allowed the company to maintain customer service levels whilst creating significant savings (One comparable company needed triple the staff for a similar customer base)
• Delighted customers by creating CRM tasks based on missed calls from PBX logs, even when no message was left
• Drove the innovative integration of Google Earth with Salesforce.com boosting installer productivity by 33%
• Managed administration and general business support for the company
• Transitioned from MYOB to Xero, improving productivity for administration of finance and payroll functions

Norwood Systems developed EnterpriseMobility, using Bluetooth to deliver in-building voice services.
Software Engineer
• Lead developer of InstantCoverage, an award-winning RF (radio frequency) planning application for indoor environments including concepts from RF propagation theory, trunking theory and a range of user-interface design innovations
• InstantCoverage was prototyped in less than six weeks after joining
TerraVision
1998-2000
TerraVision built a Vessel Monitoring System used, for example, in fisheries to monitor the commercial fishing fleet for compliance or fleet tracking in mine operations.
Senior Analyst (Software Engineer)
• Designed and developed LoggerHead, a distributed logging application to collect performance data from components running on servers across Australia
• Developed an innovative Outlook-based client for ECERS (electronic catch and effort reporting system) allowing fishing vessels to lodge their reports via satellite through an on-board email client

• In 2014, 707 squadron won the ‘RSL Efficiency Shield’ ahead of nearly 20 other units in WA.
• Also in that year, the morale and effectiveness at 707SQN was recognised by the Commander of the AAFC with an unprecedented ‘Unit Citation’. (In 84 years of the organisation, this remains the ONLY ONE ever awarded)
